New article published in the International Digital Magazine Brainz, where I am a top 500 contributor and award winning columnist.  This was published 10/13/21

What purple veggies and fruits do you eat? Most of them are only available at farmer’s markets or from the farm.

I love purple, and love to eat it. Purple cabbage, purple cauliflower, purple potatoes, eggplant, blueberries, blackberries, purple plums, purple grapes, purple asparagus. Purple carrots were the original color of carrots until Bugs Bunny Cartoons came out and created a demand for orange. Now heirloom colors are available again.

76% of us don’t eat enough purple.[i]

Good for the brain, bones, inflammation, cognitive health, slows aging. Fights cancer.[ii]

Where can you find a variety of purple produce? Local farmer’s markets. We have lost much of the diversity of plant foods because of factory farming. Big Ag chooses varieties for longevity not for phytonutrients or for taste.

Blue purple is the color of our 6th chakra. The Third Eye chakra is related to the act of seeing, both physically and intuitively. When it’s balanced, it brings you insight, strong intuition, wisdom, and the ability to see the big picture. Eating purple food will help balance the energy in your 6th chakra. Color is vibration and energy. Cells are energy.

I love to wear purple. I love to be around it. It’s the color of Amethyst and there are purple sapphires that are sensational. I designed jewelry in my previous life.

“The color purple is often associated with royalty, nobility, luxury, power, and ambition. Purple also represents meanings of wealth, extravagance, creativity, wisdom, dignity, grandeur, devotion, peace, pride, mystery, independence, and magic.”[iii]

What can you do to bring more purple into your world? Start with eating more purple. Eat for your future health.

I am a health coach. Eat for all your senses and incorporate all the colors of the rainbow. Each has a gift for the body, and the colors work together to create a synergy for health. Eat from the “farmacy” not from the SAD (Standard American Diet). How can I help you?
