But living low toxin is more complicated. We do not live in an isolated bubble; we live in a community. We do not choose the ingredients used in restaurants, and we want to enjoy socializing with friends and family who are still eating the Standard American Diet. We travel and have choices for food that we did not prepare and do not control.

Feeling Good by Cheryl Meyer is the perfect immunity booster for our times. With everyone concerned about Covid-19 and staying healthy in times of virus and anxiety, award-winning Meyer brings us a comprehensive guide to not only fighting viruses and staying healthy but actually PREVENTING some illnesses and maximizing wellness by boosting our immunity. The idea is that food is our best medicine, and that prevention is key. The answer lies in nature’s medicine cabinet–food. Food is rich in vitamins, minerals, and other healthy nutrients that our bodies and minds need to thrive. Instead of focusing on treatment found over the counter or in a prescription, this book focuses on prevention, with an emphasis on organic, natural food, the importance of de-stressing, and care for others–including children, pets, and loved ones.
Feeling Good by Cheryl Meyer is a virtual treasure trove of vital information on health, food, and nutrition that we desperately need today. So many have forgotten, or have never heard, the simple medical fact that a strong immune system acts as a shield against some viruses, sickness, and disease; and that this shield is made of food like protein, vegetables, fruit, nuts, and grains. Nutritious food is all around us, and when we can’t get it in food, we can turn to supplements. Backed by science and keeping a sense of community, family, and positive mental health in mind, Meyer lays out the information you need to strengthen your immune system.
As you read her very palatable, easily digestible advice and personal anecdotes, you will come to appreciate the value of fresh, healthy food, and how it benefits our bodies and minds. The bulleted lists and illustrations also make the information accessible. One part I particularly like is the section where the author explains how to eat healthily in restaurants, which isn’t always easy to do. Another part I like is the information she provides on toxins and how to rid our bodies of them. In a world of sickness and conflicting advice from experts from the scientific and medical fields, Feeling Good by Cheryl Meyer is one book you’ll want to read today.

Feeling Good: Living Low Toxin in Community and Everyday Life is a work of non-fiction specializing in the health, food and fitness sub-genres, and was penned by author Cheryl Meyer with some amusing illustrations by artists Nicholas Patton and Gizzy Dizzy. In a world where convenience and profit have turned many of our foodstuffs and drinks into toxin-loaded threats to our health, the author offers solid advice on how to obtain fresh, health-promoting foods and boost our immune systems by doing so. In a world where health is at a premium right now, returning to simpler times and fresher meals, as well as guarding those we care for from such toxic exposure, is a valuable skill to learn indeed.
Author Cheryl Meyer offers a wealth of advice on eating the right things and staying away from processed foods, and whilst that may sound like advice that we already know, this author goes much further down the path to show us how to incorporate freshness and low toxin practices into everyday life despite the conveniences and pressures of the modern world. I also felt that the additional advice on staying healthy and making good choices when you travel was a chapter I’ve not seen in other books of this genre. The self-care elements regarding stress, gratitude, and self-image round out the holistic and ultra-positive approach of the book nicely. Overall, I would highly recommend Feeling Good: Living Low Toxin in Community and Everyday Life to those who have not yet explored the ‘you are what you eat’ concept in detail, and may wish to do so for their future health and happiness.

Feeling Good: Living Low Toxin in Community and Everyday Life by Cheryl Meyer is a step-by-step, comprehensive guide on how to take control of your health and wellness, restore balance, and build your immune system once and for all. Chronic illness, inflammation, and autoimmune disease have skyrocketed and many sufferers are being misdiagnosed, under-diagnosed, and are far from finding relief from the pain and multiple (sometimes debilitating) symptoms caused by over-toxicity. Award-winning author Cheryl Meyer knows what you’re going through, having dealt with these challenges herself, and she’s made it her mission to help others on their journey to wellness, one page at a time. Never has the world been so full of the kinds of chemicals our human bodies must struggle to eliminate, but in the age of Covid-19, we need a healthy, strong immune system even more than ever. This book will show you how to combat the elements through various forms of self-care and the nutrition necessary to support and ultimately transform your body to a place of balance and restoration.
Feeling Good: Living Low Toxin in Community and Everyday Life by Cheryl Meyer is such a fantastic read! As a person with multiple chemical sensitivities (MCS), I found the information in the book to be spot-on and wished I’d had this available to me fifteen years ago when I was struggling the most. Some people are just beginning their journey and have no one to turn to because many doctors don’t get it or haven’t the faintest clue on where to direct a person already overwhelmed, inflamed, and intolerant to conventional medicines or methods. I highly recommend Feeling Good to everyone, not just folks that are struggling with issues, but those who wish to learn about maintaining good health in a time where toxic chemicals, foods, and environment seem to be the ‘norm’. Well-written, positive, informative, and a five-star addition to my bookshelf that I will most certainly read again and again!
