What habits are you teaching YOUR children that they will grow up mimicing?

If we want our children to be healthy, we have to LIVE healthy habits ourselves, take them to farmers markets with us and to the grocer with us, eat with them around the table at least for breakfast and dinner, explain why they are eating healthy, teaching them how to read food labels, and how to make healthy lunches. We need to have them help us cook, and at the end of the day, we need to open conversation and “listen” about their best and worst experiences through the day
and if they are self-love, love, kindness, compassion, joy we need to reinforce them. We need to guide them every step of the way until it becomes second nature. to be self-loving, good decision making, happy joyful beings.
We need to visibly show them healthy habits every step of the way so that they become little super, heros of their own life and can withstand yukky food choices and avoid them, and yukky lifestyle habits and reject them.
They won’t be deprived,  you will bake ‘healthy treats with them with real food ingredients and not chemicals that they will crave instead of body system interrupting chemicals and sugar.
They will be healthier, happier, more contented little beings, and they will be living through positive experiences not through peer pressure.
All that good food will turn on their healthy happy hormones, so they will wake up invested in their life and their feet will hit the ground in the morning in joy.  That’s what real organic food of all the colors of the rainbow will do for them.
This way they will get the nutrition to have healthy body systems from the inside out.  They won’t be depressed, they will wake up with joy.
Teach them to notice the glimmers that come throughout the day and to sit with them and rejoice with them.

 

 

 

They will learn better, they will make better decisions, they will have more energy they will want to learn and grow and read and get into Nature for their vitamin N if you get into nature with them and inspire them to continue.
This will give them the future we want for them.
It starts with us, the adults. It starts with teaching them they are important enough to love themselves from all aspects, and show them what that looks like.
We can’t wait for the “govt” to show them how to do this, or to clean up all the toxins in their world, we need to live it and ingrain it in them.
I just sent a copy of Its Not Complicated, How to Eat, to a Mom that I adore, and she found her preteen boy reading it on the couch and sharing the things he was astounded by with the family at dinner that night.  He was all excited about this new knowledge.
It starts with YOU. You can make a huge difference in your childs life but giving them healthy habits TO mimic.

 

 

What a joy to raise a child that FEELS GREAT and knows he is so loved, he has learned how to maintain that throughout his life.
Teach the child radical self-care, how to be healthy and live their best life.
To mimic Rogers and Hammerstein, they have to be carefully taught, but then those amazing habits travel with them through life as part of your legacy. Its SO worth it.
