What is Food to You?

  • Is food, love?
  • Is food, community?
  • Is food, energy?
  • Is food, pleasure?
  • Is food, sustenance?
  • Is food, power?
  • Is food, happiness?
  • Is food, life?
  • Is food, nutrients?
  • Is food, compassion?
  • Is food, junk, chemicals, toxins, pesticides, herbicides, and/or fast and easy?

I ask because what if I told you: if you changed how you eat, it could cure your pain; would you do it?

If you eat to live rather than lived to eat, what would it look like? If you eat nutrient-dense foods and foods for sustenance, can it still bring you pleasure? You know that it could bring you health. Does that resonate with you? Your body needs nutrients for life. Feeding your body chemicals cannot sustain you, which is why we are seeing so much disease.

  • 10% of the population currently has diabetes.
  • 33% of our population is pre-diabetics and will have diabetes in 5 years.
  • 39% of our population has or will get cancer.
  • 53 million Americans have autoimmune diseases, mostly females. (This includes 1 in 5 females and 1 in 7 males)
  • If you eat more nutrient-dense foods and could avoid all of this, would you do it?

Does this resonate?

Why do you do what you do when you know what you know? — Dr. Libby Weaver

Can you eat nutrient dense foods that still bring you pleasure? What would that look like? Could you show love in ways other than with food? Could you enjoy community from other perspectives?

What if clean food could still bring you pleasure?

If you reframed the foods you eat by using real ingredients, with real nutrients, and still had yummy things to eat, would that bring you pleasure?

Could that bring you the same happiness?

If food made you healthy could it bring you more happiness?

I am here to tell you, yes, it can. Don’t wait until you get sick to discover “real food.” Eliminate all of the ingredients that you can’t pronounce. Buy live foods. Cook. Sit around the table at home with your loved ones. Eat plants. Choose from all of the colors of the rainbow. They each have some wonderful gift to give to you.

You have to discover what food means to you, and then you need to reframe food so that you fill the same emotions with healthy substitutions.

Food can make you well, food can keep you well, or food can make you sick as hell.

Avoid all of the chemicals; avoid all the fake ingredients and most of your health battles are over. Your body will heal itself.

Good health doesn’t have to be difficult. It isn’t about deprivation. Good health is about the joy of finding the life that you have always wanted but didn’t know how to get.

Good health is about reframing what you have been eating and making different choices that offer the benefit of feeding your body lovely nutrients. Real food has the added benefit of bringing you vitality. It will make you glow. These foods will highlight your beauty.

You are only one decision away from a totally different life. – Unknown
